She-Ra and The Princesses of Power (2018)

Synopsis:

A young solider from an dictatorship discovers she has the power to return balance to the crumpling world surrounding her and the people of Etheria.

My feelings:

I loved the new spin on this cult classic. It wasn’t just a spin-off of He-man like the original, it is its own entity.

I enjoyed the characters. The creators took some of the original characters and revamped them for this new series. They displayed complex emotions and personalities.  It is reminiscent of the emotional conflicts that preteens and teenagers go through.

It had the right amount action, without it overtaking the central plot.

There were conflicting situations with no clear-cut resolution, which can be attributed to real life.

The design was distinct. It did not subtract from the narrative and seemed as if it was drawn with a purpose of this being a new show.

Slightly reminiscent of Avatar the Last Airbender. There was a young hero fighting to correct the balance of the world. A hero is surrounded by magical and non-magical friends along with an animal sidekick. Lastly the concept of separating oneself from worldly connections and the hero doing the complete opposite. However, this did not lessen my opinion on the series.

Would I Recommend It?

I give She-Ra a 5/5. It was surprisingly good and not a carbon-copy of the original. It teaches good morals and life lessons. It is a brilliant show for individuals of all ages, especially individuals under fifth-teen.
